Maro Portal is a native macOS app with a local Node.js server on the same Mac. Your records stay in the app's data folder on your own Mac.
You choose where AI calls go
AI calls go out only to the providers you connect: Anthropic Claude, OpenAI Codex, or an on-device model.
History survives a model change
Providers are replaceable parts. When the model changes, a task keeps its history.
Your manuscript stays yours
In Maro Writer, AI drafts join the manuscript only when you adopt them, and the original is kept separately.
How work is checked
Separate reviewer
Work is checked by a separate reviewer before it closes.
Named receipts
Each review receipt names the provider that did the review. A partial pass is never rounded up to a full one.
Decisions are traceable
Decisions are logged with their original wording and where they were said.
